We are proud to introduce the Ballad Calgary Running Team!

Last year, during the Calgary Marathon, Ballad sponsored an employee's participation, hosted an aid station, and collectively raised over $2,000 for Family Matters. This year, we are taking it a step further with an official Ballad running team dedicated to supporting our community.

Ballad provides industry-responsive and innovative skills and employability training for Canadians, empowering them to secure meaningful employment in their desired career pathways. Our mission is to support participants in building resilient and thriving livelihoods while strengthening communities across the country.

Through our programs, we’ve made a measurable difference—helping thousands of participants achieve their career goals while enabling employers to address critical workforce needs. From equipping individuals to excel in high-demand fields to supporting businesses in bridging talent gaps, Ballad’s programs drive lasting change across Alberta.

Our commitment extends beyond training; it’s about empowering participants, fostering innovation, and shaping a resilient workforce for the future. By partnering with industry, we design forward-thinking programs that respond to workforce demands and adapt to the rapidly evolving labour market.

Description

It is Canadian Mental Health Association – Calgary Region’s (CMHA Calgary) mission to be a leader in reducing the impact of mental illness and addiction in community. For more than 60 years, we have provided a person and family centered integrated service model focused on early intervention and prevention of a mental health or substance use concern that delivers a measurable increase in community resiliency.

Our long standing belief is that recovery is possible. Our recovery model focuses on wellness by shifting the emphasis from a narrow, limiting view of a diagnosis, towards empowering individuals, building their strengths, resiliency and hope for a meaningful life. This recovery is demonstrated in the advancement of Peer Support where individuals with personal experience of a mental health or substance use concern are trained to support others through shared understanding and hope.
