Our Mission
Every Step You Take Brings Better Care to Women in BC
At BC Women’s Health Foundation, we believe that every woman deserves compassionate, specialized support for her mental health. Too many women in British Columbia face challenges that can feel overwhelming:
- Postpartum Depression and Anxiety – Nearly one in four new mothers in BC experience postpartum depression or anxiety.
- The Impact of COVID-19 – Almost half of women in BC saw their mental health decline during the pandemic.
- Access to Care – More than 40% of women in BC didn’t get the mental health support they needed during this time.
These numbers tell a powerful story: We need to do better. And with your help, we can.
Your Support Changes Lives
BC Women's Hospital + Health Centre is at the heart of mental health care for women in BC. Across 60+ programs and clinics, we are ensuring women receive care tailored to their unique needs, including:
- Reproductive Mental Health Services – A world-class program supporting women and families through pregnancy and postpartum mental health challenges. Soon, we aim to open North America's first mental health unit where mothers can be admitted with their babies, removing barriers to care.
- Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Program – Specialized care for women living with chronic pain, helping them regain quality of life.
- Menopause & Midlife Women’s Health – Support for women navigating hormonal changes, anxiety, and other mental health concerns.
Women from across BC and the Yukon turn to BC Women’s Hospital for expert care. And every dollar you give ensures they receive the care they deserve.
Thanks to You, Lives Are Getting Better
Your generosity fuels groundbreaking initiatives that make a real difference, including:
- PostpartumCare.ca – A first-of-its-kind digital platform that provides accessible, expert mental health support for new mothers, ensuring no one navigates postpartum challenges alone.
- Families in Recovery (FIR) Program – A specialized program supporting individuals who are pregnant or parenting while facing substance use and mental health challenges.
Through your support, BC Women’s Hospital continues to lead, innovate, and care—ensuring that every woman and family gets the compassionate, life-changing help they need.
Because of you, women in BC have hope. Because of you, they are not alone.
