My Story…

Hello, my name is Oakley Moser! I started violin/fiddle when I was 7 years old, have pretty much never put it down, and love coming up with my own songs! I started with learning classical pieces which I really liked, so I started doing the Conservatory exams and found that quite fun but also challenging.

My fiddle teacher Jenny Melvin is this amazing fiddler who always comes up with interesting repertoires that are actually from here, but also other parts of the world, like Ireland.

I love playing the fiddle because it always makes people happy. I can make people happy by doing something simple and that’s pretty cool. I go onto the street and play whatever tune is on my mind to busk! People like classical music but I find they respond really positively when they hear fiddle tunes.

I am helping Nova Scotia Talent Trust raise funds to support young artists like me to follow their dreams.
