Our story…
Katelyn Lohnes passed away October 19, 2021, at the age of 28 after a two-year battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and a secondary diagnosis of B-Cell Lymphoma.
Katelyn had a passion for life and was always eagerly making plans for future endeavours. Her sense of humour never failed to put a smile on your face or bring tears to your eyes. Her strength and courage were unmeasurable and unrelenting. Katelyn never gave up hope and was always talking about better days ahead.
Throughout Katelyn’s treatment she required hundreds of blood products as well as a stem cell transplant in June 2020. Katelyn was a strong advocate for Canadian Blood Services and Stem Cell Donation. She used her experience to increase awareness and be the voice for others battling this terrible disease.
Her family is dedicated to continuing her legacy and giving back to the Canadian Blood Services. Please join us in honouring Katelyn's memory by donating to our "Kilometers for Katelyn" race team as we run to raise money for Canadian Blood Services to help those in need of blood products.
