Our Mission
My Sisters’ Place (MSP) is a safe, welcoming, and inclusive home environment that supports women through drop-in and wrap-around services. Many experience multiple vulnerabilities including gender-based violence, trauma, chronic mental and physical health challenges, homelessness or housing instability, substance use, and extreme poverty.
My Sisters’ Place offers a reliable support system for women facing episodic or chronic hardship. Our programs help women achieve safety, stability, skills, confidence and recovery.
Over the past year (2023-2024) here’s how donor support has made a difference:
- Our door opened 26, 042 times for a woman to enter seeking refuge and services
- We served 26, 529 meals and snacks to women living with food insecurity
- Our staff supported 968 women in crisis
Goal for 2025 Impact:
We are working to bring back a Nurse-Led Primary Care Clinic to My Sisters’ Place with the goal of providing low or no-barrier access for women with lessen complications of a medical condition. The vision is to decrease the number of unnecessary visits to emergency departments while assisting in the primary health needs of our women. This would mean addressing immediate concerns such as skin and eye infections and providing guidance on when to utilize the pharmacy for common health problems.
Testimonials
“The nurse’s clinic onsite is vital. So many of us don’t have family doctors and I know a lot of the other women won’t go to Urgent Care or the hospital. Being able to see Julie (nurse practitioner) at My Sisters’ Place made a huge difference for me. I was able to get referrals to specialists and get looked after. She is so nice and so approachable.”
