My Story…
Cancer is a journey I never planned for or asked for. It is a journey that invokes your darkest thoughts, robs you of your physical strength and leaves you staring at a reflection in the mirror you no longer recognise. It is a journey that instills courage, strengthens love and creates a world in which every breath you take is a precious appreciation. I didn’t fight cancer on my own. I was surrounded by family, friends, work colleagues, volunteers and a medical team. It was these people who provided the courage to keep fighting when it all became too hard. I’m going to ride nearly 300km in honour of all those that have been forced to take the cancer journey, and for those that walk beside these brave warriors. My bike journey is a choice and I hope that someday, through the funds that we raise, that cancer will no longer be a journey. All I ask is that instead of buying that cup of coffee, that you donate to a cause close to my heart. I will do all the work and pedal hard.
