Raise money for Haus of Transcendent
Haus of Transcendent (HOT) is a nonprofit established on January of 2023, whose mission is to create an accessible, vibrant, and healthy community for ALL, by supporting the members of the LGBTQI2S+ community who often fall through the cracks of our broken health and human services system: Transgender people, immigrants, racial and ethnic minorities, persons with disabilities, artists, and people in recovery. Our efforts are currently focused on providing services in Greater Cleveland, where we are headquartered, as well in the global south (Mexico, Peru, Egypt, and UAE), where our primary focus is to support the safety, health, and economic well-being of Transgender leaders, while enhancing our Cleveland programs with their innovative interventions.
Our organization supports community members by addressing the social drivers of health that contribute to homelessness and health disparities among LGBTQI2S+ adults. We act as both a bridge to community resources through our partnership-first approach, as well as a direct source for case management when our community members are facing acute crises. HOT’s programs provide emergency help, affordable housing, case management and health support, harm reduction kits, language assistance, and education and job assistance. HOT’s ArtReach program focuses on leveraging the power of art, and the influence of artists, to activate LGBTQI2S+ people and allies. Additionally, HOT acts as a fierce advocate through engaging with community leaders and government, as well as initiating petitions.
Since HOT’s inception in January of 2023, our organization has been a leader on affordable housing, accessibility, language access, and climate justice. HOT also serves as both a local and national leader on sustainability and health equity efforts. Healthcare Without Harm (HCWH), Moving Forward Coalition, UniteUs, Cuyahoga County of Board of Health, Case Comprehensive Cancer Center, Gerontological Society of America, and Better Health Coalition have contracted and/or partnered with HOT to advance our mission. HOT has quickly become a trusted partner on multiple fronts because of our expertise, impact, multilingual and culturally-informed approaches to advocacy, and innovative programs.
HOT is rapidly growing, having just received an $829,467 grant from Sandra Hoskins Legacy Foundation (SHLF), which will allow HOT to begin Phase One of HOT’s affordable hausing program—building the first multi-unit residential building for LGBTQI2S+ persons and allies in the Greater Cleveland Area that is affordable, accessible, sustainable, and resilient. Recent articles from Cleveland Scene, The Buckeye Flame, WKYC, La Mega Nota, Wikipedia, and Crain’s Cleveland Business, as well as the inclusion of HOT’s Art Fellow—Onya Nurve—on Season 17 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, have further magnified HOT’s visibility.
Our focus moving forward will be to sustain and exceed the exceptional growth that has occurred in the past two years, so that we can continue to increase our positive impact through 2025 and beyond.
