My Story…
Whenever I’m on a tough run and my legs get heavy or my lungs are burning and I want to give up, I think about my mother-in-law, Jean.
She didn’t just face one brutal diagnosis. First, it was laryngeal cancer. Then ALS. That’s something bigger than hard. That’s grueling.
But Jean didn't see it that way. She saw it as a battle she wanted to fight. And she fought with everything she had. She did it so she could be with her family, ride a roller coaster, play cards, watch the packers, ride a zip line in Jamaica....
That’s who I’m running for.
This October, I’m running the Twin Cities Half Marathon to raise money for the Head and Neck Cancer Foundation. This is something very close to Kim's and my heart. My goal is to raise $500 to help give other patients more. More hope and more moments with the people they love.
