My Story…
As a child I remember dreading running the mile in school. When the track or soccer units rolled around, I moaned and groaned. It seemed like running came easy for the other kids. It was hard work for me. Fast forward to adulthood, in 2019 I was deep in grief after losing someone very special to me and I had just had my second baby. Life was changing quickly and little did I know we were on the brink of a pandemic. I knew I needed to control what I could. So I started to move my body. I found running to be the one activity that allowed my brain to take a break. I was fully present, moving forward. It started with daily movement, often in the early hours before my family woke up. It felt so good. Getting in a routine of prioritizing movement with consistency was my goal. Over the years my goals and milestones have changed. This year as I head into my 40th birthday, I am pursuing new challenges. Training and preparing for races with mileage that I never dreamed was possible. Movement is medicine and forward is a pace.
