My Story…
Hello! My name is Anna Schmitt, and I am raising money to run in the Twin Cities Marathon on October 5th. I am partnering with YMCA of the North America's Adventure Team, a cohort of 17+ camps and adventure programs that offer outdoor experiences for all ages, 365 days per year. Y Adventure is fundraising specifically to increase their equity, inclusion and belonging efforts - including but not limited to: scholarships, continued learning, experiences for staff, and more! Y Adventure is committed to creating inclusive, accessible spaces that acknowledge the shared history and nurture of diverse communities.
As someone who previously taught Kindergarten and now works in Child Welfare, I have a strong passion for enriching the development and growth of children, but also individuals of all ages. These camps provide not only fun, but integrate social-emotional skills, leadership opportunities, problem-solving, and connection. They provide an environment to build community, focus on personal growth, and build confidence.
Any amount, big or small, will make a difference. My goal is to raise $600 to help the YMCA organization develop inclusive consistencies within their programs. All proceeds will go directly to them.
