My Story…
I started running in my late 30s. My son was 10 years old and I was working full time. I was struggling with confidence and body image and felt like I'd lost myself among the admin of life. When I started running, I hated it - I felt so clumsy and it was so hard. But I wanted to get fitter and stronger, so my 70 metre jog slowly turned to 5km and then extended to the horizon. Trail running has shown me that I am strong, capable and resilient, and that it's not too late to achieve my big scary goals.
Living out in the bush and spending so much time on the trails has given me a real appreciation for the work of RFS volunteers, particularly after the 2019 bushfires. Every donation makes a difference.
