My Story…
Too many people have lost loved ones to cancer, and I too know what that pain is like. My first memory of cancer taking away a loved one was when I was 10 years old, and my uncle passed. After that, I've lost many more friends and family to cancer in just the 33 years of life I've had on this earth. I know running in itself won't be me giving the Finger to cancer, but in donating to the BC Cancer Foundation. I'm hoping it'll be a roundabout way to flip the bird at cancer for all the loved ones cancer has taken away from so many of us far too soon. Or, it'll be a roundabout roundhouse kick up cancer's head, or ass. Whichever you prefer.
It'll be my first half marathon so I've set the goal real, real, low. If we reach it, great. If we don't, but still get donations to BC Cancer that's fine too.
