My Story…
My father, Stephan Maloney, walked a hard road through years of addiction, but when he chose sobriety, he chose life. Running became his anchor—the rhythm of his footsteps a reminder of strength, discipline, and hope. It wasn’t just exercise; it was the foundation that carried him forward and showed all of us the power of perseverance and redemption.
October 7th, 2025 will mark one year since my dad, Stephan Maloney, passed away. Running was such an important part of his journey in sobriety, and it gave him strength and discipline when he needed it most. To honour him, my family and I will be running the Island Savings 5km during the Victoria Marathon weekend. It feels like a meaningful way to keep his spirit close and celebrate the life and resilience he showed us.
