Help Shannon raise money

No, I’m not running the Royal Victoria Marathon ... despite what the top banner of my page says! I did the 8K once, and I can honestly say—NEVER AGAIN! (My knees would never forgive me).

BUT I am committing to walk 35 kilometers throughout October, raising funds in support of Canada’s veterans and seniors living at Veterans Memorial Lodge. And I am cheering on my Broadmead Care team who IS participating in the Royal Victoria Marathon. 

2025 marks 80 years since the end of the Second World War.
The brave men and women who served our country did so selflessly, protecting the freedoms we enjoy today.

Now, it’s our turn to honour those sacrifices—and to ensure they are not forgotten.

Each kilometer I walk is in remembrance of them, and a reminder that the peace and freedoms they fought for must never be taken for granted.

As we look at the state of today’s world, it’s clear we’re standing on the precipice of challenges that could undermine everything they sacrificed for. So I walk ... to remember, to honour, and to raise much-needed funds to support the people who call Veterans Memorial Lodge home.

Your donations will help purchase vital equipment like specialty mattresses that are not fully funded by the government, but are essential to comfort and quality of life.
