Our story…
Pacific Public Health Foundation is the only charity in BC actively fundraising for public health initiatives, which play a vital role contributing to the overall well-being of our populations. Our vision is a healthier, safer, and more equitable future for all.
Why is supporting public health so important? Because public health is invisible… when it’s working.
While public health work often goes unnoticed, under-appreciated, and importantly, under-funded, the work is essential. It is the foundation on which good health is achieved. We fund innovative and important projects with partners working directly in the field, like the BCCDC, as they work to find solutions to problems, like testing wastewater for trends in toxic drugs, which may prove to be another tool in the fight against the toxic drug poisoning crisis in BC.
We are doing the work outlined in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s calls to action, by building trust with Indigenous groups through programs like the Kloshe Nanitch medicine bundles project. We are taking care of future generations by funding programs that improve youth mental health, and promoting employment opportunities in STEM fields for equity-deserving youth. Along with our dedicated partners, we fund transformative work grounded in equity, social justice, and compassion, ensuring that we make a difference in the health of communities where, how, and when they need it the most.
Join us as we walk and run for public health and the well-being of our communities throughout our province. Not a runner? Donate to support work that fosters the protection, prevention, and promotion of good health.
