My Story…
After years of trying, I finally got into the Knee Knacker 50k this year- a dream I’ve been chasing since I started trail running in North Vancouver over 25 years ago. My goal was to run 50k for my 50th birthday year. Since losing my mom suddenly in February, running has been… hard. Grief, like the mountains, is full of a lot of climbs & moments where you have to stop and catch your breath. While I’ve decided I'm not ready to race this year, I’ve signed up to volunteer on race day, to stay connected to the trail community that has given me so much. But this race is sooo hard to get into (lottery) but I have a chance to get into the 2026 Knee Knacker- if I raise $1,000 by June 30, I’ll be entered into a draw for a spot in next year’s race. I know it’s late in the game, but I’d be honored to have your support. Just a small amount will help me get to my goal All funds go directly to North Shore Rescue- the heroes who drop everything to bring people home safely from the mountains.
