Creative Options Regina (COR) is a for-impact, charitable organization that develops personalized support services for people experiencing disability in Regina, Saskatchewan. Rooted in the philosophy of Gentle Teaching, COR strives to strengthen the fabric of companionship and community for all those we serve. Our innovative approach to caregiving is grounded in the recognition and celebration of the intrinsic value of each person. We are committed to nurturing, growing and expanding inclusive communities, rooted in authenticity, integrity and belongingness.
Our Story:
In 2009, COR was established as an organization to support the diverse needs of one individual who, for years, was disenfranchised from family and community. Beaten and bruised through self-injurious actions, and heartbroken from lack of compassion and community, COR created a home based on the principles of Gentle Teaching. Now, over a decade later, we have become one of Saskatchewan’s largest service providers in the disability services sector with a broad range of programs and services supporting youth, adults and families that desire a personalized, compassionate approach to care.
What makes COR stand out is that we intend for our work to leave people feeling more dignified than they did prior to encountering us. Everyone from the support workers to the leadership team to the board of directors makes a conscious choice to engage with people in a meaningful way. COR supports people, not clients. We facilitate rather than dictate. We enlist companions, not employees. We focus on strengths, not deficits. We customize homes, support, employment and learning opportunities for our community. It is important to us that everyone experiences a true sense of belonging.
We aspire to influence cultures of support across the broader caregiving sector. COR is privileged to walk alongside others in community who have dedicated their efforts to ensure our vulnerable citizens always feel safe and loved. Together, we are making a relevant, meaningful, and timely impact.
