In Zambia, while their parents work, children need to walk hours every day to get to their nearest source of water, which may often be contaminated and can cause illnesses to spread. 

At Good Neighbours Canada, we plan to change this. We are building wells in rural Zambian villages to provide easy access to clean, safe drinking water through our Wishing Well project. It aims to raise funds to build accessible water facilities for clean, safe water.

Where Does Your Money Go?

Our fundraising goal of $10,000 will go to building two water boreholes in a rural community in Zambia. The average cost it takes to survey the land, drill the borehole into the ground, and construct the well is roughly $5000. It also includes educating the community on proper use and maintenance, electing a Water Management Committee who will ensure the well is properly looked after to remain functional for the whole community.
