Help Adrian raise money

This October, I’ll be running the TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon. But this time around, I'm hoping to do it for something greater than just a physical challenge.

In the next 6 months, our goal is to raise $10,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Clinic at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) to support babies and families as they navigate one of the hardest moments of their lives: the diagnosis of cystic fibrosis.

My journey with the CF community started about a decade ago, when I first fundraised with Shinerama at McMaster University. From then on, the CF community has had a special place in my heart - as a student and as a nurse. I spent 4.5 years caring for CF patients on an inpatient unit, and today, I’m proud to be a clinic nurse at the SickKids CF Clinic. Working closely with CF children and families each and every week has been a new joy and passion. 

This fundraiser is my way of giving back — not only to the children and families I’ve had the privilege to begin to know and work with, but also to those I haven’t met yet. The funds will help provide important supplies to families receiving a new diagnosis — a time filled with uncertainty, emotion, and adjustment.
