My Story…
As many know, this year I lost my Oma. I was lucky enough to have her very close to me through life, and miss her dearly.
My Oma Ursula was strong, proud, yet warm and kind to those she loved. My most fond childhood memories are of watching her and my Opa dance, or hanging laundry outside on the line while she shared her wisdom with me.
I’ll always be grateful for the times we shared in her hometown in Butzbach, Germany, one particular late night while travelling through the country, and the moment her and I stood on the Matterhorn mountain together in Switzerland just her and I.
I remember looking at her gazing over the sights below and thinking “I’ll be so happy to have this memory one day.”
While holidays will never be the same without her reciting her German sayings before meals, I hope to celebrate her by helping to raise money for Alzheimer society of Toronto which is an organization that offers support to other individuals and their families affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia in her honour.
Thank you to anyone who donates. I am grateful for any contribution big or small 🤍
Feel free to share a fond memory of her with your donation 💖
