My Story…

Hi,

I'll be running in the annual Toronto Waterfront 5K to raise funds for several incredible charities that support those most in need in our community.

Your donation—big or small—can make a real difference in the lives of individuals and families facing challenges.

Below are the organizations that will benefit from your generosity.

Please consider sponsoring me and joining this effort to empower our community.

Thank you so much for your support!

Evangel HallFounded in 1913 by the Presbyterian Church in Canada, Evangel Hall Mission (EHM) is a community service agency delivering programs that address homelessness and poverty in Toronto. They strive to be a safe haven where people living with mental and physical health challenges, fighting addictions, and fleeing abuse, can access support to work towards brighter futures. EHM offers a continuum of care, meeting the immediate needs of people experiencing homelessness while also providing them with tools and community support to attain stable housing, financial independence, and self-sufficiency. EHM and sister agency, Portland Place, operate as long-term not-for-profit housing communities which provide support for tenants, including crisis support, community meals, skills training, and counselling. They provide compassionate care and community for tenants who face ongoing challenges.

ARISE: This Ministry empowers individuals involved in the sex trade to reclaim their lives. They offer outreach, case management and spiritual care to individuals involved in prostitution. ARISE means Advocacy and Reclaiming Individuals involved in the Sex trade through Empowerment.

Anishnawbe Health Foundation:  They strive to support an environment where the urban indigenous community can heal spiritually, physically and mentally. The goal is to foster the reclamation, preservation, research and application of traditional healing methods and provide other health services for diverse individuals and families in the Toronto Native Community. Glenview supports the ongoing work toward reconciliation and right-relationship with Canada's First Peoples.

Yorkminster Park Meals On Wheels: This non-profit organization provides home-delivered meals for seniors in need, ensuring they receive nutritious meals and a human connection. Their mission is to enable the sick, elderly or disabled to remain in their homes with some degree of independence. The service provides peace of mind to family members and compassion for recipients. Glenview members have volunteered with this organization since 1966! Visit ypmealsonwheels.com, to check out their 50th Anniversary video.

Daily Bread Food Bank:  The staff, volunteers, member agencies and Board work together to end hunger in our community and change the way people think about poverty. They distribute over 13 million pounds of food through 118 Member Agencies. Glenview is proud to support their efforts to provide people of all walks of life with food and advocate for people living below the poverty line. Many who are clients of the food bank themselves volunteer and are responsible for its day-to-day operation. It is a place of community building, where people build up skills and give back.

Thank you for helping us, help others.
