My Story…
On October 18th I will be walking with the Eli's Place Team in the TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon. We have walked many steps over the past several years, yet have never been closer to reaching our goal!
We are currently in negotiations with the Ignatius Jesuit Centre to open Canada's first rural residential long term treatment and transition centre for young adults living with serious mental illness on their beautiful site just north of Guelph.
It is time to make Eli's Place a reality! I am asking you to support our efforts to raise the funds we shall need to sign the lease, begin hiring staff, renovate and put the opening date within sight!
Every dollar counts as we move ever closer, step by step, to realizing our vision. With heartfelt thanks for your support of our team's efforts!

Description
For the 160,000 young adults in Ontario grappling with serious mental illness, access to effective treatment is grossly inadequate. The cost in lives lived with debilitating challenges or lost to early death is far too great. The vision of Eli’s Place aims to bring hope. A first-of-its-kind in Canada, Eli’s Place is modelled after a leading rural, residential long-term treatment centre with proven success. Programs that incorporate therapeutic work, specialized care and skills training will offer a path to recovery for people in this underserved age group, giving them the tools to heal and move from simply surviving to living.
