My Story…
Abby Fedosoff was only 15 when she died by suicide. The fund was set up in her name to provide education, awareness and support for youth mental illness.
Across North America, we are witnessing a troubling rise in mental health challenges among children and adolescents—especially among young girls. Nearly 1 in 5 youth have been diagnosed with a mental health condition, and it has become the second leading cause of death for young people. Rates of depression, anxiety, and self harm thoughts continue to climb, with many adolescents struggling in silence and not receiving the support they need. These issues are particularly acute for girls and marginalized groups, who face additional barriers to care and understanding. The growing prevalence and severity of these challenges underscore the urgent need for greater awareness, compassion, and action from all of us.
With your help, the Abby Fedosoff Memorial Fund has supported vital research into childhood trauma, attachment, and mental health, as well as outdoor education initiatives and children’s summer camps. But there is still so much to do. Every donation helps fund programs, research, and resources that can save lives and offer hope to families in crisis.
