Every Step for Elena. Every Step for Water. 💧

This October, I’m running the TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon with a mission that’s deeply personal—and profoundly global.

I run for my daughter, Elena. She was born with cancer and left paralyzed as a result. Every step I take is one she cannot—but her strength, her spirit, and her joy inspire me to keep going. She is my why. She reminds me every day that even the smallest step forward can change a life.

That’s why I’ve also pledged to raise $500 for Good Neighbours Canada and their #Step4Water project. This incredible initiative brings clean and safe water to children and families in rural Zambia by funding the building and maintenance of wells in communities that desperately need them.

In many of these communities, children walk miles every day just for water—and it’s often unsafe. Just like Elena's journey, their struggle reminds me that resilience is everywhere—and that we all deserve the basics to live, to heal, and to thrive.

This run is for them. For her. And for anyone who knows what it means to fight for something better.
