My Story…
Our journey started with personal experience—deep, painful, and far too common. We've faced the heartbreak of watching loved ones struggle with their mental health, and we've mourned too many lives lost to suicide. These losses weren’t just statistics—they were friends, family members, and young people with so much potential who didn’t get the support they needed in time.
Eli's Place will be a residential working farm where people facing mental health challenges can come to heal. A place rooted in nature, purpose, connection, and care.
It will be a place for people to rest, reconnect, and recover—young adults who feel lost, overwhelmed, or left behind by the traditional system.
We’re raising funds to turn this vision into reality:
To purchase land, build safe and sustainable spaces, hire trauma-informed staff, and create a model of care that’s as grounded as it is revolutionary.
Description
For the 160,000 young adults in Ontario grappling with serious mental illness, access to effective treatment is grossly inadequate. The cost in lives lived with debilitating challenges or lost to early death is far too great. The vision of Eli’s Place aims to bring hope. A first-of-its-kind in Canada, Eli’s Place is modelled after a leading rural, residential long-term treatment centre with proven success. Programs that incorporate therapeutic work, specialized care and skills training will offer a path to recovery for people in this underserved age group, giving them the tools to heal and move from simply surviving to living.
