My Story…
I will be running my first half marathon to raise funds for the Heart & Stroke Foundation; a cause that resonates deeply with me representing hope, recovery and the power of prevention. This organization works tirelessly to fund life-saving research, providing education on heart and stroke prevention and supporting those affected by heart disease.
I have experienced firsthand the impact of heart disease on my healthy, active (and who I naively like to think) invincible Mom. I couldn’t picture a more fitting way to honour her journey of strength and resilience this past year than to fundraise for the research that helped keep her with us.
While my inspiration may have started with my Mom, it extends to all the families with their own story, and those that have been impacted in any way.
Let’s continue to raise awareness and continue to raise funds for heart and stroke research because I will tell you, as will thousands of others, I am beyond grateful for their constant efforts everyday.
