Our story…
This October, I’m running my very first half marathon - I’ve called my fundraising page Chasing Memories, in honour of my beloved grandfather - my Avô - and in support of the Alzheimer’s Society of Toronto.
In his later years my Avô lived with Alzheimer's disease inspiring me to pick this organization to fundraise for.
My Avô lived most of this life as a proud member of the Toronto community, living in the heart of the city from the age of 18 until his passing. The city holds so many of his stories, memories, and adventures - so as I run through its streets, I’ll be chasing those memories in his honour.
He was a man of courage, curiosity and a true love for life. He always sought out new experiences with bravery and heart - so now it’s my turn. For me this race is not just about reaching the finish line, it’s about carrying forward in his spirit and helping others impacted by Alzheimer’s disease.
