My Story
I'm participating in the Sporting Life 10K to raise money for Campfire Circle in honour of my little buddy Esme, who was diagnosed with leukemia last summer. Campfire Circle is an incredible organization that has brought joy and normality (and crafts!) to some of Esme's toughest hospital days. I'm glad they exist, and I'm proud to do what I can to support them because they support Esme—she's truly the best—and other kids facing this supremely unfair challenge.
Though I can't run, I'll do 10K at a stretch in my power wheelchair—and up the ante by pledging to practise mindfulness meditation the whole way. If you know me, you know that this'll take real muscle!

Help deliver healing through happiness to kids with cancer or serious illness and their families.
For over 40 years Campfire Circle has provided play-based experiences through our in-hospital, community, and overnight camps for kids with cancer or serious illness and their families. We empower kids to take back their childhood, regardless of their medical diagnosis.
Now, more than ever, kids with serious illness and their families need moments of joy, connection, and healing.
