My Story
On Sunday, May 11, I am participating in the Sporting Life 10k for Campfire Circle with Team Jack Nixon to raise funds for Campfire Circle in his honour.
On December 3, 2024, we lost an incredible young man: sixteen-year-old Jack Nixon, after his courageous battle with brain cancer.
While our lives have been changed forever with his passing, by supporting Team Jack Nixon – consisting of Jack’s family and friends - you will help make it possible for kids like Jack to experience the joy of camp.
Campfire Circle provides programs to kids with cancer or serious illness and their families in pediatric hospitals, in local communities and at their medically supported overnight camps. Campfire Circle is truly magical. It brings light and happiness to children affected by childhood cancer. This is what Campfire Circle did for Jack in August 2024 and we are forever grateful for his experiences at camp that summer.
Jack would love the idea of his friends and family raising money on his behalf to allow someone like him to have the same experience at Campfire Circle.

For over 40 years Campfire Circle has provided play-based experiences through our in-hospital, community, and overnight camps for kids with cancer or serious illness and their families. We empower kids to take back their childhood, regardless of their medical diagnosis.
Now, more than ever, kids with serious illness and their families need moments of joy, connection, and healing.
