Our Story

UniTeam, led by the passionate Virgil Vega, a standout member of Campfire Circle’s Leader in Training (LIT) program, is dedicated to giving children battling serious illnesses the chance to rediscover the joy and vitality of childhood.

Virgil’s connection with Campfire Circle began in 2015 when he was diagnosed and admitted into hospital. As a camper, he experienced firsthand the incredible impact of the camp’s programs, which helped him find strength and happiness during treatment. After ten transformative years as a camper, Virgil is now a proud LIT and graduating camper. He, alongside his family, is eager to give back to the camp that provided unwavering support during their toughest times.

UniTeam's mission is not just to raise funds, but to ensure that other children can experience the same sense of joy, hope, and community that Virgil did; giving them the opportunity to be happy, healthy, and empowered once more.

Help deliver healing through happiness to kids with cancer or serious illness and their families.

For over 40 years Campfire Circle has provided play-based experiences through our in-hospital, community, and overnight camps for kids with cancer or serious illness and their families. We empower kids to take back their childhood, regardless of their medical diagnosis.

Now, more than ever, kids with serious illness and their families need moments of joy, connection, and healing.

When you donate to Campfire Circle you build friendships and social skills, develop self-confidence and resiliency, and improve their overall well-being.

With your support, we can offer our programs at no cost to families and grow our circle of care so that every eligible child can benefit from our innovative and impactful programs.
