Raise money for MedVents
Happy Trails Racing is a very proud supporter of the NPEMA Medvent and Rovers organization. They are need of some new equipment, which they also use to help keep our participants safe.
The NPEMA MedVent & Rover program focuses on medical Services from First Aid to Nursing and definitive medical care as a whole.
Our Advisors consist of Nurses, a Physician and other Allied Health Services. The training our youth receive starts at Standard First Aid and progresses up to the Emergency Medical Responder level. Often our youth intend to join the medical field in post-secondary schooling (nursing, paramedicine and others).
NPEMA Medical Venturers (MedVents - ages 14-18) & Medical Rovers (MedRovers - ages 18-26) is a vocational program for youth & young adults. The MedVent program was initially founded in 2006 was brought into the Scouts Canada program to allow for internal members of the program to provide First Aid and Medical Services at large scale camps and jamborees, where traditionally paid responders were brought in.
All members of our programs are trained to the minimum of the First Responder level, including Basic Life Support (BLS). Under the careful eye/guidance of our Medical Advisors and Scouters, study and learn various levels of medical response and are able to practice these skills at Offers of Service events in scouting and at community events across the province.
Our program was founded in 2016, and originally consisted of around 6 youth and 3 Scouters; however, since then the program has only grown. Today NPEMA boasts over 20 members, between our two age groups: MedVents and MedRovers.
