My Story…
You'd be surprised how far a dollar can go for a Kenyan Orphan. What buys almost nothing here in Canada (even at the dollar stores) still fills bellies and creates smiles for these kids. I've seen this first hand with trips to Kenya in 2014 and 2017 with a team of dedicated volunteers. Plates heaped with rice and beans until it looks like a pyramid so that every mouthful goes into a smiling face (and a satisfied stomach). Children who arrive sickly and half starved quickly find sanctuary and a place to be valued, protected, and nurtured back to health. Today I am running. I'm running to help change the face of orphan and vulnerable child care in Kenya. I'm running to help fuel the dream of extended families being supported so that the child can stay within the family unit instead of institutionalized. I'm running so that a child can, for the first time, know the food security that we don't even consider on a day to day basis. Please consider sponsoring my run to assist this worthy cause.
