My Story…
In July 2024, I became a living kidney donor for my dad. The process wasn’t simple - I went through all the testing, dealt with surgery delays, and at one point, faced the possibility I might not be a match. There were a lot of ups and downs. But in the end, it worked and it changed everything.
Within days of the transplant, my dad’s health took a complete turn. Most of his symptoms either disappeared or became manageable. Watching that transformation happen so quickly was incredible and it confirmed just how life-changing living organ donation can be.
This is now my second year post-donation, and I’m doing great. In fact, I launched my first fundraiser just six weeks after surgery - which says a lot about the quality of care and how far donation procedures have come.
My goal now is to raise $1,000 to support awareness and education around kidney disease and living donation. There's still so much misinformation or hesitation out there and I get it. I had my own doubts at first. But once I did the research, spoke to other donors, and understood the process, I knew it was the right decision. It’s one of the best choices I’ve ever made, with almost no downside.
If you’re considering becoming a donor, or just have questions, reach out. Sometimes just talking to someone who’s been through it can help you see things more clearly.
Thanks for your support. Every bit helps.
