You can do so by becoming a Founding Member of the Crim’s newly-launched endowment fund. For every donation over $100, not only will you be recognized as a founder in the Crim’s new office building, but you will also get a foot of the historic Blue Line!
As the Crim continues on its “Road to 50” which will culminate in our 50th running of the event in 2027, we are looking forward to a bright future. The Crim Endowment which will help the organization continue the race and all our community programs, which serve more than 20,000 Flint and Genesee County residents, for the next fifty years and beyond.
What is the Crim Endowment?
The Crim Endowment is a permanent or “forever” fund that will be used to invest gifts in a way that guarantees support for Crim into perpetuity. Your gift will continue to provide income for the foundation for as long as we serve the community. Endowed funds are invested in a way that allows for consistent and steady growth over time. This endowment will specifically fund organizational operating costs for Crim, allowing the foundation to use more dollars to support our events, programs and services, reaching more residents with more opportunities to be active and healthy.
Why Support the Crim Fitness Foundation?
For the last 47 years, “Crim” has remained committed to improving the lives of residents within the City of Flint and Genesee County by providing best-practice strategies, programming, and proven leadership in regional, state, and national efforts surrounding individual and community health. What started in 1977 as a ten-mile road race to benefit Special Olympics, has evolved into an organization serving nearly 20,000 people each year.
Our current programming includes the world-class HAP CareSource Crim Festival of Races and Crim Training Programs; the Mindful Flint Initiative; Crim Community-Wide Sport; and Crim Neighborhood Impact Programs, which include direct nutrition education and Policy Advocacy for health equity, including built environment change.
