This Mother’s Day, I’m once again taking part in the Sport Chek Mother’s Day Run, Walk & Wheel in support of the Calgary Health Foundation’s Newborns Need campaign — a cause that’s deeply close to our hearts.

As many of you know, our twins Bode and Mikaela arrived early and spent over 8 weeks in intensive care. Thanks to the incredible care provided by the Calgary Rockyview NICU, we now have two thriving, energetic kids who are ready to lace up and run 1KM alongside me.

We’re running to give back — and to help other families going through what we once did.

1 in 8 babies in our community are born prematurely, and Alberta still has one of the highest preterm birth rates in the country. The Calgary Health Foundation is working to change that with a bold goal: to raise $60 million to transform neonatal care across Southern Alberta through advanced technology, research, and innovation.

By supporting my run, you’re helping ensure more families have access to the same life-saving care we did.

This run is for every baby born too soon, for every family walking that difficult journey, and for every medical team giving them hope.
