for the First Annual Miles for Smiles 5k benefiting the
LSU Health Sciences Center School of Dentistry in New Orleans
All proceeds gathered from donations, registrations, and sponsorships will go to fund the LSUHSC School of Dentistry's student dental volunteer clinic at Ozanam Inn, where students provide free oral examinations and extractions to homeless and needy individuals.
The Miles for Smiles 5k will be held at the Bucktown Marina on the Metairie Lakefront at 8:30am!
All participants will receive a chip-timed race, a event t-shirt, and a custom finisher medal.
Stick around after the race for an awesome post race party including music, food, drinks, and the race awards ceremony!
The American Student Dental Association (ASDA) chapter at the LSUHSC School of Dentistry is hosting the first key fundraiser at the School of Dentistry to benefit our student dental clinic at Ozanam Inn. A dedicated group of dental students and faculty members volunteers their time and expertise to deliver free dental exams and extractions to the homeless and underserved individuals in New Orleans. LSUSD ASDA aims to support this mission by allocating 100% of the race proceeds to the clinic. The event also serves as a platform to promote oral health awareness, encourage community engagement, and foster wellness within both the dental and broader New Orleans communities.
Race Information
Race Day registration will be available beginning at 7:00AM.
Race day registration will be $40 for all participants and $15 for children 12 and under.
T-shirt sizes are NOT guaranteed for Race Day registrants! Register early to secure your spot!
Refunds, transfers, or deferrals are not available, as all proceeds go to the Dentistry program.
Packet Pickup

If you are unable to pickup your packet early, then you may pick it up on race day.
Packet pickup will close promptly at 7:50, as the race starts at 8am!
You may pick up a packet for someone else.
If you are picking up a packet for more than 5 people please email the names to angela@lazyhoundracing.com
so we may have them all together for you.
