My Story…
My names Melanie and I’m 23 years old. It is my first time getting sober and I just hit my 4 months on the 10th and have never felt so good. In 2023 I was in the hospital for a total of 11 months with alcoholic neuropathy, vertigo, severe vitamin deficiency, I lost all of my hair on my entire body, was jaundice, legally blind, and the list goes on and on and on. I had to relearn everything like walking and bathing myself. I walked with a walker for 9 months and then switched to a cane. I had to sit when showering and lost an insane amount of weight. I looked like a walking zombie. Here I am now, running a 5k for sobriety. I never in a million years would have thought I’d be sober let alone running a 5k for sobriety.
Donate to help Melanie raise money for 10th Annual Run for Recovery 5K’s fundraising campaign.
