My Story…

As many of you know, Miles for Migraines is very personal to me. When I was a kid, my mom would suffer debilitating migraine headaches every time she took me to CHoP for my back.  Back then, I didn't realize what a super hero my mom was.  She wouldn't even make it home to Jersey from Philly before her hair was standing straight up, she was vomiting into a bag, and she could barely keep her eyes open and function, yet she used every ounce of strength she had to get me home safely before she had to lie down in complete darkness and silence for at least a day or two to recover.

Now, I have a grown son who suffers from a different type of migraine. Instead of brutal headaches, he has never ending brain fog, vertigo, nausea, and overall agony.  HIs entire life is is engulfed in just trying to not feel miserable. He doesn't have "good" days, he has "less awful" days. It affects everything he does - and doesn't do. This has been going on for years. As a mom, it is the most helpless feeling knowing that I can't fix this or push him in the right direction to get a cure.

Migraine specialists are not common in the US.  Many doctors treat migraine patients as second class citizens and people who are complainers with "just a headache." They don't take the time to actually dive deep and treat the many facets of migraines.  Quite often, there are 8 months or longer between appointments.  How can this be?  What is going on here??  Please help us raise money to get more help for those who suffer from the many variants of migraines. More migraine specialists are needed.  More government programs and funding are needed for the thousands of people who deal with this invisible torture every day. Nobody should have to live like this because of lack of information, knowledge, training, and funding.

Please make a donation to help find ways stop this awful living hell.

And while you're at it, join my team, Uzzi Scream, and come to Philly on Sunday, September 28, 2025, as we wear our purple and show our support for people with migraines!
