My Story…
My name is Brayden, and I am currently a high school student studying at a prep boarding school in New Jersey. With my extended family residing in Vancouver, BC, and being of international disposition, I am excited to run my first half marathon in the beautiful Seattle area that I grew up visiting so often!
As an avid athlete, I believe in running for a cause greater than the event itself; as such, while I look forward to the half marathon this coming Thanksgiving, I would also like to commit to fundraising for the Delta Care and Scholarship Funds Inc, a public charity that provides financial and educational support to employees and affiliated parties within the broader Delta Airlines community.
The charity's cause profoundly resonates with me: Not only am I passionate about the aviation industry and its wider impact, but I also believe in the leading vision for facilitating the opportunity for quality education and a network that thrives itself upon a supportive framework.
My journey into running began as I transitioned into a new, exciting chapter of my academic career: studying abroad. Fear and uncertainty had accumulated during the months leading up to my departure, and endurance sport became an emotional and physical outlet; it was a source of both inspiration and expression. However, through my voluntary role at a local social impact brand aimed at galvanizing change surrounding the vast socioeconomic disparities responsible for Hong Kong's volatile and exacerbating housing crisis, I soon learned to truly appreciate the subtle implications of my next adventure. I am incredibly fortunate for the opportunity to such a safe and enriching educational experience, and with this blessing, I am eager to further empower others.
Please feel free to join me in this mission, be it through donations that will support the organization's infrastructural programs and funds, or otherwise. I am honored to fundraise for this cause, for it is incredibly gratifying to witness the Delta Airlines corporation expand its network and encourage a widespread support system that will continue to help families and members for the years to come.
This half-marathon isn't just about running. It's about community, resilience, and hope. With your support, I look forward to furthering Delta's mission. Together, I am fairly excited to work towards a future where quality education and financial assistance becomes an increasingly accessible resource inalienable to those it may entail.
