We'll turn on the tropical conditions for you on Sunday 1 June for the BMA Mackay Marina Run - an unmissable event on the Australian Running calendar.
Scheduled four weeks out from the Gold Coast Marathon, the BMA Mackay Marina Run is a signature event on the Mackay Road Runners’ calendar. The 21.1km half marathon is scenic, flat and fast.
Join us this June an discover why we are regarded as Queensland's most scenic running event with a course that is set against stunning blue waters and sub-tropical scenery.
The event's major fundraising beneficiary is the Leukaemia Foundation.
Postrace photography, as official photographers donate 10% of each year's sales to the Leukaemia Foundation.

Event Information
Mackay is a booming regional Queensland city, located half way between Brisbane and Cairns. The BMA Mackay Marina Run is the signature running event for the exciting and expanding City of Mackay, showcasing the spectacular features of the tropical coastal city with a blue water river and sandy beaches. Visit Mackay and celebrate the role fun and fitness has in the community. If you are chasing a PB, or a race record, the Mackay Marina Run is waiting for you.
Event Precinct
The event precinct and the finish line is the boat ramp end of the Mackay Marina Village, Mulherin Drive, Mackay Harbour. The start line is on the picturesque Mackay Marina Breakwater, near the yacht club approx 200m south of the event precinct.

The Mackay Marina Run has an official cut off time for the 21.1km in which entrants must complete their race.
This time is 3hrs 20mins, pace guideline is 8.30 min per km.
Cut off times are enforced so roads can be reopened tothe public in accordance with event permits. These are all based off the gun
time (i.e. the time when the starting gun is fired). Please view course mapfor cut off locations. .
Course officials will issue warnings throughout the course and have the authority to remove participants from the race at any of the listed cut off locations where a participant is behind the cut off time and their safety or event progress is compromised. It is important to note it remains the
participant's responsibility to ensure they finish within the official cut-off time.
The pace guideline is 8.30 mins per km pace which will assist participants with their training and race day pacing. Should a participants'
gun finish time fall outside the official cut-off time an official result will not be published or provided. Event organisers are committed to all
participants having a great experience.
Withdrawal:
To withdraw from an event you should submit a request for withdrawal via email to event@mackaymarinarun.com
NOTE - before withdrawing, consider transferring your current registration to another event, for example transferring your half marathon registration to 10km registration.
OR
Transferring your current registration to another person, for example transferring your half marathon registration to someone else, so they can run in the half marathon.
Transfer options are available online on or before 11.59pm, 28th May 2025.
All transfers are carried out online. See separate information regarding transfers. Do NOT request a withdrawal if you intend to transfer to another event, or transfer your registration to another person to run in the same event.
Withdrawal:
Withdrawing on or before 11.59pm, 30th April 2025:
You will receive a refund, less a cancellation fee. Table of cancellation fees listed below.
Withdrawing after 11.59pm, 30th April 2025:
If you withdraw after this date for any reason (including, but not limited to, medical reasons) - there is no refund of any portion of the entry fee.
To withdraw from an event you should submit a request for withdrawal via email to event@mackaymarinarun.com
Your request for withdrawal email should include your
- Name (exactly as you registered)
- Contact phone number
- Email address (exactly as you registered)
- Event you wish to withdraw from (for example "I wish to withdraw from the 10km run")
- Subject line - "Request for withdrawal from Mackay Marina Run [your name]"
Email your request to event@mackaymarinarun.com
By requesting a withdrawal, you understand that a cancellation fee will be deducted from the refund as stated in the terms and conditions when withdrawing on or before 11.59pm, Tuesday 30th April 2025.
There is no refund of any portion of the entry fee if you withdraw after 30th April 2025.
(To withdraw from an event, follow the email process as outlined above, irrespective of the date of your withdrawal request email)

Can't run the half marathon (which you have registered for), and want to drop back to the 10km?
You can transfer between events on or before 11.59pm, 27th April 2025
It's easy.
- click on the Race Roster event registration page
- sign-in to your Race Roster account
- click the 'Transfer' button (on the right hand side)
- select 'Transfer to a new sub-event'
- follow the prompts to transfer your registration to a different event, for example half marathon to 8km.
Can't participate in the Mackay Marina Run (which you have registered for)?
You can transfer (gift) your registration to someone else, for the same event. For example, you have registered for the half marathon and you can gift your registration to a friend, and they run in the half marathon.
You can transfer your registration to someone else on or before 11.59pm, 27 April 2025.
It's easy.

Free registration for international participants for the Half Marathon is only available to people traveling to Australia from overseas and attending the run as part of their trip. It is not available to internationals residing in Australia.
