Let's Breakthrough T1D!
As a mom, there's nothing more I want than to see my child live a happy, healthy and carefree life. But for my daughter, Kendall, that life includes a constant battle with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D), a disease that never takes a break.
At just 10 years old, Kendall faces challenges most kids never have to think about. She endures countless finger pricks, insulin injections, and blood sugar swings, all while trying to be the fun, energetic, and fearless girl she was meant to be. There's no cure for T1D yet, but there's some promising research out there right now and we're here for it!
Every day I imagine what a life could be like again where every minute of every day doesn't have to involve a decision about her diabetes management.
Please participate in the Akron Marathon on Saturday September 27th and run or walk some miles in support of our girl. We would love to have you join our team - absolutely all are welcome.
With love and gratitude for our support system near and far,
Emily
Description
Welcome to my Breakthrough T1D Run fundraising page and thank you for helping me reach my fundraising goal!
As the leading global type 1 diabetes (T1D) research and advocacy organization, Breakthrough T1D helps make everyday life with T1D better while driving toward cures.
T1D is a lifelong condition where the body’s immune system attacks cells that produce insulin—a hormone essential to the ability to get energy from food. T1D can strike anyone at any time, changing their life forever.
And there’s no way to stop it…yet. That’s why I am fundraising for this community— to help create a world where T1D is a thing of the past. I am challenging myself to reach a lofty fundraising goal knowing it is nothing compared to the daily hurdles faced by those living with T1D. They’re in a non-stop battle, and we can give them hope.
Every dollar you give helps open the doors that were once closed by T1D diagnosis.
Thank you for your support!
