I ran the Akron Marathon in 2023 as my first full marathon. It was one of the best experiences I have ever had. I fundraised for Grace House in Akron. They provide a loving home for indigent, homeless, and abandoned individuals are the end of life. This made my experience even more impactful. 

This year I am taking on the Akron full again! I knew I wanted to fundraise for a nonprofit again. I reached out to the Summit Metro Parks and they were enthusiastic about the opportunity to sign up as a charity partner for the first time.

The Summit County Metro Parks mean so much to me and the community. I participate in the Fall Hiking Spree every year with my boyfriend, Joe. I spend countless hours running on the towpath, hiking the trails, and photographing families making memories and enjoying the outdoors. Reading the Green Islands magazine is one of my favorite bi-monthly activities. Every family member or friend who has visited me has been taken on a trip to see the Gorge dam. To have such a robust park system is something I do not take for granted. In every season there are ways for everyone to enjoy the parks and their programming. 

Not to mention - the Akron Full runs through the Summit County Metro Parks! Starting off on the towpath by the Mustill Store, passing Memorial Parkway, popping out in the Valley and hopping onto Sand Run.
