As the leading global type 1 diabetes (T1D) research and advocacy organization, Breakthrough T1D helps make everyday life with T1D better while driving toward cures. T1D is a lifelong condition where the body’s immune system attacks cells that produce insulin—a hormone essential to the ability to get energy from food. T1D can strike anyone at any time, changing their life forever. And there’s no way to stop it…yet. That’s why I am fundraising for this community— to help create a world where T1D is a thing of the past. I am challenging myself to reach a lofty fundraising goal knowing it is nothing compared to the daily hurdles faced by those living with T1D. They’re in a non-stop battle, and we can give them hope.
