Help Cathy raise money

Hello!

I spend much of my time in Southampton, and appreciate what an important resource our local hospital is for our community.

I'm riding the 75 Km route, which takes me on some scenic winding roads alongside the Saugeen River out to the rolling terrain on route towards Paisley, and then back along the shoreline to Southampton.

In past years, your generosity has helped to purchase much-needed equipment for the Southampton Hospital, including a CT scanner, and fund a new innovative addiction treatment program.  Last year, new digital mammography equipment was purchased for the Breast Screening Program in Owen Sound.

This year's focus for the Gran Fondo fundraising is the purchase of four  Automated Drug Dispensing Units for the Southampton Hospital.  Each unit costs more than $100,000!  Three units will be placed on the inpatient floors, and one will support the Emergency Department, helping care teams respond rapidly and accurately when patients need them most. 

These secure, high-tech medication cabinets dispense medications safely and quickly, reducing wait times and ensuring patients receive the right medicine at the right time. In emergencies, seconds matter. By improving medication safety, tracking inventory in real time, and freeing up nurses and pharmacy staff to focus more on patient care, ADUs are a smart, efficient, and life-saving investment in our community’s healthcare.

Any funds raised beyond the amount needed for the ADU’s will be used for infrastructure updates such as a negative pressure room in Southampton's Emergency Department.
