This year, funds raised through the Gran Fondo will support a critical upgrade to patient care at the Brightshores Southampton Hospital through the installation of 4 Automated Dispensing Units($406,610).

ADUs are game-changers for the hospital pharmacy and nursing teams. These secure, high-tech medication cabinets use touchscreen and barcode technology to dispense medications safely and quickly, reducing wait times and ensuring patients get the right medicine at the right time. In emergencies, those seconds matter. At Southampton, where the hospital operates with a smaller onsite medication inventory, these new ADUs will make a meaningful difference. Three units will be placed on inpatient floors, and one will support the Emergency Department, helping care teams respond rapidly and accurately when patients need them most.
