Progeria is a rare, fatal, “rapid-aging” disease. Without the discovery of new treatments, all children with Progeria will die of heart disease at an average age of just 14.5 years. The Progeria Research Foundation (PRF) was founded in 1999 in response to the complete lack of progress being made to help children with Progeria. Our mission: to discover treatments and the cure for Progeria and its aging-related disorders, including heart disease. Today, PRF continues to be the only organization in the world solely dedicated to this mission.
Thank you for your generous donation to PRF's Falmouth Road Race Team!
Thanks to generous supporters like you, PRF is helping those with Progeria around the world live longer, healthier lives.
PRF has helped establish global access to the heart-strengthening, life-extending drug treatment lonafarnib for children and young adults with Progeria. And while we are excited by this progress, we must press onward toward even more effective treatments and, ultimately, the cure. Your support makes that forward movement possible.
Right now, we are actively exploring cutting-edge genetic therapies and have started a new clinical trial with a new drug!
The Progeria Research Foundation’s mission is simple and focused: cure this fatal, rapid-aging condition. We have one FDA-approved treatment, and together, we WILL find the cure!
