Save Popponesset Bay owns local waterways and a barrier beach in the Town of Mashpee to preserve and protect the area for future generations. This barrier beach is a protected species habitat that allows for Federally protected Ploving Pipers and Terns to survive. This barrier beach not only protects the local community from Mother Nature but also creates a proper flushing current from Popponesset Bay to Vineyard Sound, maintaining water quality for the area.
Save Popponesset Bay is excited to participate in the 2025 Falmouth Road Race for the first time. We have a team of runners who are excited to train together and fundraise funds to preserve and protect the Popponesset Bay for generations to come.

The barrier beach not only protects the local community from Mother Nature but also creates a proper flushing current from Popponesset Bay to Vineyard Sound, maintaining water quality for the area.
Funds raised from the 2025 Falmouth Road Race will go towards annual maintenance needed to sustain the structural integrity of the barrier beach including dune restoration, dredging activity and dune grass planting.
