My Story…
February 28th is Rare Disease Day, the goal of which is to raise awareness and generate change for the 300 million people worldwide living with a rare disease, their families, and their care givers. Toward this goal, I plan to run the Falmouth Road Race as a charity runner on Team Progeria Research Foundation (PRF).
Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria Syndrome is an ultra-rare, fatal, "rapid-aging" disease. There are an estimated 200 people living with progeria worldwide. PRF is the only non-profit organization solely dedicated to finding treatments and the cure for progeria.
I plan to promote awareness of progeria and have a little fun with numbers along the way as I fundraise. To that end, the focus will be on the number of donors - 100 seems like an achievable metric to depict success. This metric allows the individual donations to be small. Say no a caramel latte at Dunks, and consider donating $7 (one dollar for each mile of the race) instead.
Donate to help Raymond raise money for The 2025 ASICS Falmouth Road Race’s fundraising campaign.
