Hello all,

I’m incredibly honored to share that I will be running the 2025 Falmouth Road Race as part of the 1019 Foundation Team.

One of my favorite aspects of running is the strong sense of support, love, and community it fosters. In my view, nothing better embodies those values than the 1019 Foundation and the Falmouth community. Over the past few years, through mutual friends and family, I’ve had the privilege of getting to know members of the 1019 team and this remarkable community. They represent everything I aspire to be—motivated, caring, courageous, kind, and supportive.

For those unfamiliar, the 1019 Foundation was established in memory of James Patrick Lavin and Owen O’Reilly Higgins, two Falmouth High School students and athletes who tragically lost their lives in a car accident in December 2016. I remember being deeply moved by the story even from a distance, and wondering how the community would respond. Nearly ten years later, I’m fortunate to have since met many of those who were personally affected—and I’ve been continually inspired by their strength, compassion, and unity. Though I never met James or Owen, their impact is clear in the incredible group of friends and the broader community they left behind—one that I now feel lucky to be a part of.

The mission of the 1019 Foundation is simple yet powerful: to give back to this incredible community and uplift those around them. All proceeds raised go directly toward scholarships for Falmouth High School athletes and financial assistance for youth athletes participating in local sports programs.
