My Story…
Hey everyone! I am so excited to announce that I will be running the Falmouth Road Race this August to raise money for Recovery Without Walls. This organization offers free holistic services to women in recovery from substance use disorder, PTSD, co-occurring disorders, grief, and other common challenges that silently disempower us in today's world. Not only have I benefited from their free yoga sessions, trauma-informed acupuncture, Ride for Recovery, and economic empowerment services, but I have been able to meet and network with others in this community who's stories have given me hope and strength when I truly needed it.
I never believed running the Falmouth Road Race would be a possibility for me. Running is the one constant I have clung to since I found it as a 15 year old in the midst of intense family upheaval. Since I started battling my own demons around the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, I fought my way to freedom--and continue to fight--all while continuing to run everyday no matter what. Now, I continue to run everyday (7-15 miles!). Running helps me to feel at home in my body and to appreciate its strength and resilience. I am so excited for the opportunity to participate in this event and I hope you will consider supporting me in this huge phase of my journey!
